Healing Verse

"He was wounded for our transgressions,  He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him,  and by His stripes we are healed."

Isaiah 53:5

  • What Harmed You Has ARMED You

You do not have to endure the grief and embarrassment from your past.  Jesus paid the cost for our suffering, sin and shame.  The Verse states, "He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5).

You are not what happened to you or what you did in your past.  You can be healed, delivered, and effectual.

What once "harmed" you has now "ARMED" you.  Notice how much power the "h" holds in both of these words.  In the word "harmed" we find a broken and wounded disposition.  On the contrary, the word "armed" symbolizes one who is equipped and ready for battle.  Let those circumstances that once harmed you now equip you for your intended purpose.

Our faith is revealed in trials.  Our mission is manifested as we mend.  Mend and your Mission will Manifest.  It is because of my previous circumstances and the grace of God that I am able to encourage you today.  I know the God of a second chance!  The intent of our trials is not to pull us away, but to build a platform for God to work through us to encourage others.

Understand you can allow your circumstances to do one of two things: destroy you or make you stronger.  In either outcome, you make the choice.  You can choose to stay in your current state, or you can choose to seek God to turn your situation around in your favor and for His glory.

Jesus spoke about our trials in this Verse: "Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you.  Let Me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light" (Matthew 11:28-30).   I know it feels heavy.  However, the burden is there so He can teach us how to overcome it.   Only through our Redeemer and Healer can we learn how to mend and have victory in every situation.  Do not fear, but have faith and trust in Him.  He is calling you to rise and turn your despair into destiny.

You may feel as though you have not been called for anything special.  However, the very fact you have suffered and persevered testifies to His grace and purpose for you.

Have you ever wondered why you lived through a difficult situation and others did not?  Why did you survive the vehicle accident, shooting, fatal disease, abuse, neglect, overdose, or turmoil?  Do you think your survival is in vain?

In John 9:1-3, Jesus walked by a man who was blind.  Some thought this man was blind because of his sins or his parents' sins.  However, Jesus answered, "It was not because of his sins or his parents' sins.  This happened so the power of God could be seen in him."  Bad things happen to each of us so that the Glory of God can be revealed.

What previous harm is God now using to arm you with purpose?   What tragedy has God orchestrated in your life to show others His power?  What blinders has He told you to wash away so you could see Him clearly?  Can you see Him now?  Your suffering, survival, and strength are not in vain.  God has chosen you for a unique purpose.  Be not harmed from your past, but be healed by the wounds (blood) of Jesus the Christ.
